Nana is a liar

In August, 2012, I added several Mansfield high risk children to our youth group.

One in that group was a 6 year old very smart and motivated young lady, H.

H was very good in school and maintained high grades and all honors level courses in school.

Her mother was a life long meth addict and was so promiscuous that H never really knew who her biological father was.

When H was 9, she was earning money from me for her report card grades and weekend work she would do for us. However, her mother was always stealing the money for drugs.

I then bought her a small hand held gun safe with a combination lock that allowed H to keep her money safe from her thieving mother.

When I brought the gun safe to their house, the grandmother was there and proceeded to lie to me that it was H’s younger sisters who stole from H, not H’s mother.

All during this lie, H just stood their mute, with her head down looking at her shoes… out of family loyalty, she never disputed the lie.

H’s core center of integrity has always impressed me. Every since she was 6 years old, she has always told me she wants to be a lawyer… I know she will be a good one… she has the potential to be a great one.
